Pinwise · Effective July 17, 2026
Pinwise is an iOS application for logging and organizing injection and dosing protocols ("the App"). It is operated by the developer of Pinwise ("we", "us"). Contact: [email protected].
Nothing. The App contains no analytics, tracking, or advertising frameworks and operates no backend servers. We have no technical means to access the information you enter into the App. Our App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected."
Everything you enter — protocols, dose logs, biometrics, lab results, notes, AI conversations, and advisor memory — is stored locally on your device and, if you have iCloud enabled, synchronized through your private iCloud database under your own Apple ID. That sync is performed by Apple's CloudKit service and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We cannot read your iCloud data.
The AI advisor is optional and works with an API key you supply for a third-party AI provider (such as Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI, or a self-hosted or cloud Ollama server). When you use AI features:
We ask your permission first. The App has no built-in AI and no default provider. Before anything is sent, the App shows you a consent screen that names the specific provider you selected and the exact hostname your data would travel to, and itemizes every category of data that would be included. Nothing is transmitted unless you tap "Allow and continue." You can withdraw that permission at any time in Settings → AI data sharing, and permission is requested again if you switch to a different provider, because the recipient has changed.
When you allow it, the following are sent directly from your device to your chosen provider to generate a response:
Inventory counts, reminder times and purchase history are never sent. This data never passes through any server of ours — we operate none. The provider's handling of that data is governed by its own privacy policy and your agreement with it, not by this policy. You can switch providers — including a fully local Ollama or self-hosted server, in which case the data stays on your own network and reaches no company — at any time in Settings.
Your API keys are stored in the iOS Keychain (encrypted by the operating system, optionally synced across your devices via iCloud Keychain). They are used only to authenticate your requests to your provider.
When you import a lab report by photo or PDF, text recognition happens entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework. Only if you proceed with AI extraction is the recognized text sent to your chosen AI provider, and only after you have granted the permission described above. The recognized text can include anything printed on the report, including the laboratory's name and any header information. Original photos and PDFs are not stored by the App.
Subscriptions and the lifetime unlock are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment details. Purchase receipts are validated on-device through Apple's StoreKit framework.
Dose reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. They are never sent through a remote server (silent iCloud sync notifications are delivered by Apple as part of CloudKit).
The information you log is sensitive health information. Because of the architecture above, it is never used for advertising, never profiled, and never disclosed to us or to any third party other than the AI provider you explicitly configure and invoke.
You are in full control. Deleting a record in the App deletes it from your device and your iCloud database. Deleting the App removes all local data; iCloud data can be removed in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Storage. Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on our side.
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA grant rights over personal data held by companies. Pinwise holds none of your personal data, so those rights are satisfied by design — access, portability, and deletion are all directly in your hands within the App and your iCloud account. Questions are always welcome at [email protected].
Pinwise is intended for adults and is not directed at anyone under 18.
If we ever change how the App handles data, we will update this page and the effective date above, and material changes will be called out in the App's release notes before they take effect.
